Not far from Riksten Friluftsstad is one of the Stockholm’s most popular open-air recreation areas, Lida. You can go on day hikes along the 1000-km-long Sörmland trail, go cross-country skiing in the winter and take a dip in Getaren lake in the summer. Or just enjoy the fresh air and the tranquillity. The Lida recreation area with its restaurant is the hub of Lida-Riksten’s open-air recreation area, has seven nature reserves. This is the largest continuous nature area close to Stockholm and it is spread over the municipalities of Botkyrka, Huddinge and Haninge. Apart from being able to enjoy the countryside, there are a number of recreational activities on offer, which include golf, waterskiing, downhill skiing and fishing etc.
