Stage 1
The expansion of the first stage in Riksten Friluftsstad is well under way and the area is starting to take shape. About 230 families currently live here and more are moving in all the time. There will be a total of 350 homes here. The preschool Nova, which opened in November 2008, has room for 100 children.
Work is almost complete on the streets and will be finalized in spring and summer 2011.
Stage 2
In autumn 2009, infrastructure work commenced on stage 2 of the development, which will be about 290 homes here . The first people moved in summer 2010.
Stage 3
Planning is under way for approximately 230 new homes. Local plans are expected to be approved in spring 2011. This stage is even expected to include a school for about 600 pupils from preschool to year 9, which is expected to be complete by the autumn term 2012.
